01 Feeding

Horizontal type: The ring mold is placed horizontally, and the raw materials fall to the bottom of the ring mold from top to bottom, and then granulate at a 90 degree angle.

Vertical type: The mold is placed vertically, with the feed opening facing upward, and directly enters the pelletizing mold from top to bottom

Because the sawdust is very light, when the material falls, it will be thrown to the surrounding pressure roller to drive it to rotate, and then evenly pressed into shape.

02 Granulation method

Horizontal type: The ring mold rotates with the auxiliary roller driven by the rotation. During the high-speed rotation, the particles follow the mold to rotate, causing the particles to be easily crushed, and there are a large number of irregularly shaped particles or dust.

Vertical type: The ring mold is rotated by the roller, the mold does not move, and the particles will not be crushed twice. Therefore, the granulation rate of the vertical ring die granulator is higher than that of the horizontal ring die granulator.

03 Body structure

Horizontal type: The granulation chamber is sealed. During the pressing process, due to the extrusion effect, the sawdust will appear high temperature, and the temperature will get higher and higher. At high temperatures, the ring mold often damages the bearing, which is the core of the machine tool. The cost of replacing bearings is high, productivity is low, and production time is wasted. Most horizontal ring die granulators do not have an automatic roller lubrication system, so the rollers need to be greased manually every 2-4 hours. It greatly increases the cost and labor intensity. Some machines will automatically add grease, and it will happen that the grease is added too much and penetrates into the box, damaging the operation of the equipment. So the cost is a big overhead.

Vertical type: The pellet machine is top-opening, easy to dissipate heat. The machine is also equipped with a set of dust collection and cooling system (particle extrusion room, particle outlet), which can ensure that the particle mill runs at a constant temperature. The whole series is equipped with an automatic lubrication system, which reduces the labor intensity and production cost, and the bearings are not easy to damage. In addition, the horizontal ring mold is a single-layer mold, while the vertical ring mold is a double-layer mold, which can reduce the cost of replacing the ring mold.

04 Operation

Horizontal type: The ring die is placed horizontally on one side of the machine and lifted by a large shaft. Such a large and heavy steel mold is on one side of the machine, and you can imagine how much pressure and torque it bears. When the machine is running, it is easily damaged due to the torque.

Vertical type: The ring die is placed axially vertically, wrought iron and large steel bearing seat to reduce any pressure on its bearings. The large shaft is short to reduce pressure. Obviously, the machine is not easy to damage, which extends the working time.

The speed of horizontal ring die is above 200RPM, and the vertical ring die is 75RPM. It is like the torque of a car. When the speed is fast, the torque is small, but the speed is slow and the torque is large. The wood in South Asia and Southeast Asia is hardwood, which requires equipment with high torque.

The horizontal ring mold uses a six-stage motor, and the vertical ring mold uses a four-stage motor. In the case of the same power, the efficiency of the six-level motor is lower than that of the four-level motor. At the same time, the replacement and maintenance costs of six-stage motors are much higher than that of four-stage motors.

05 Equipment stability

Horizontal type: The ring die is placed horizontally on one side of the machine. When the feed is uneven, the material will accumulate in the mold below under the action of gravity. The first few rows will be discharged, the latter few rows sometimes do not discharge materials. It will vibrate and damage the bearing.

Vertical type: Feed from the rotating knife at the bottom of the pressure roller. It does not produce material bias and can reduce vibration. For equipment, a complete set of rotating parts have been tested for precise dynamic balance.
